**Donald Trump Describes Shooting Attempt Incident – US Politics Update**
Former President Donald Trump recounted the alarming events of a recent shooting attempt while addressing his followers on social media. He shared that he was enjoying a peaceful Sunday morning playing golf with friends when the tranquility was abruptly shattered by the sound of gunfire.
"I was on the golf course, and everything was beautiful," Trump said. "Then suddenly, we heard shots fired—probably four or five. It sounded like bullets, but what do I know? The Secret Service, however, recognized it immediately and acted swiftly."
Trump praised the Secret Service for their quick response, stating, "They grabbed me, and we all jumped into the carts and moved out pretty quickly. I was with an agent who did a fantastic job. There was no doubt we needed to leave the course. I would have loved to sink that last putt, but safety came first."
The incident marks the second apparent assassination attempt against Trump in just two months. On Monday morning, the suspect, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, was charged in federal court with two gun-related offenses. Investigations are underway to determine how Routh managed to get so close to the former president. Reports indicate that Routh camped near the golf course for approximately 12 hours before being confronted by a Secret Service agent. According to Ronald Rowe Jr., the acting director of the US Secret Service, Routh did not fire any shots during the incident.
Trump's remarks added to the already charged atmosphere surrounding the upcoming US election, as he made provocative statements blaming President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for inciting the attack, labeling them as "the enemy within."
In response to the incident, President Biden expressed relief that Trump was unharmed, stating, "There is no place for political violence or any violence ever in our country." Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the state would be conducting its own investigation into the matter.
