Ruud van Nistelrooy has departed from his position as assistant coach at Manchester United following the appointment of Rúben Amorim. The former striker, who had a brief stint as interim manager after Erik ten Hag's dismissal, achieved three victories and one draw during his time in charge. However, he will not continue with the club as it enters a new chapter under Amorim. Van Nistelrooy returned to Manchester United in the summer to work alongside Ten Hag, marking his return to the club after an 18-year absence. Despite expressing a desire to remain with the team and fulfill the remaining 18 months of his contract under Amorim, he will not be part of the coaching staff moving forward. The club also announced the departure of other coaching staff members, including René Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar, and Pieter Morel.
