An NHS trust has acknowledged that it was operating "an entirely unsafe system" when four newborn babies were given contaminated feed, leading to infections. This admission was made by a senior doctor from Guy’s and St Thomas’ trust (GSTT) during an inquest into the death of one of the very premature infants affected by the outbreak. The doctor, who spearheaded the investigation into the incident, provided evidence highlighting the serious shortcomings in the hospital's procedures at the time.
