Specialist nurses in the NHS are warning that the loss of their services could result in the deaths of individuals with learning disabilities. Katy Welsh, a learning disability nurse, emphasized the critical need for more specialist nurses in order to prevent unnecessary fatalities. She stressed that without their presence, more people within this vulnerable population are at risk of losing their lives.
