The decision to leave was made by "joint agreement," as announced by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. Mancini, who previously led Italy to victory in the 2021 European Championship, took over as head coach of Saudi Arabia in August 2023, shortly after resigning from his position with the Italian national team. During his time in charge, he achieved a record of seven wins in 18 matches, which has been deemed underwhelming given the expectations surrounding the team. Currently, Saudi Arabia finds itself outside the automatic qualification spots for the upcoming World Cup.
