Israeli Defence Minister Flies to US for ‘Critical’ Talks on Gaza and Lebanon

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has traveled to Washington to engage in crucial discussions with top officials from the Biden administration regarding the ongoing conflicts with Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Gallant, accompanied by the Israel Defense Forces’ deputy chief of staff, is scheduled to meet with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and President Biden’s special envoy Amos Hochstein. The visit comes amidst claims by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of a significant decrease in US arms shipments to Israel. Gallant has described the talks as "critical" and will likely focus on strategies to address the escalating tensions in both Gaza and Lebanon.
