A heatwave is set to hit the south-western United States this week, with temperatures soaring in areas from south-east California to central Arizona. Phoenix is expected to reach a scorching 113F, as parts of California, Nevada, and Arizona brace for triple-digit temperatures. Last summer, Phoenix experienced a record-breaking 31 consecutive days of at least 110F. This week, the region is gearing up for the first heatwave of the season, with the National Weather Service predicting record daily highs from Las Vegas to Phoenix. By Wednesday, the area from south-east California to central Arizona will experience some of the hottest weather since last September. Residents are advised to take precautions and stay hydrated as Mother Nature turns up the heat in the south-western US.
