Social workers in England are now utilizing an innovative AI system designed to enhance their work. The tool, known as Magic Notes, is capable of recording conversations during face-to-face meetings, analyzing the discussions, and suggesting follow-up actions that may not have been previously considered by the social workers. Currently, several councils, including those in Swindon, Barnet, and Kingston, are among the seven that have adopted this AI technology. The Magic Notes tool is accessible on social workers' mobile devices, allowing for the near-instantaneous generation of meeting summaries and recommendations for subsequent actions, such as drafting letters to general practitioners. Additionally, around two dozen more councils are either implementing or testing the system. This advancement in technology aims to streamline the workflow of social workers, enabling them to focus more on their clients while ensuring that important details and follow-ups are not overlooked.
