This decision comes as a significant advantage for his McLaren competitor, Lando Norris. The penalty was announced by FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer, who confirmed that Verstappen will be utilizing his sixth internal combustion engine for the race at Interlagos. This marks the second time this season that Verstappen has breached engine regulations. Despite this setback, Verstappen remains 47 points ahead in the championship standings with four races left in the season.
