Domestic abuse specialists will be integrated into 999 control rooms starting early next year, marking a significant step towards the government's objective of reducing violence against women and girls by half over the next decade, according to the home secretary. These specialists will conduct risk assessments for cases involving rape, domestic violence, and sexual abuse, ensuring that victims are promptly connected to support services. This initiative, set to be unveiled by Yvette Cooper on Friday, aims to enhance the response to domestic and sexual abuse claims and improve the overall support for victims.
