In Hong Kong, a court is moving closer to sentencing pro-democracy activists who were involved in an unofficial primary election. The activists, who were found guilty in the city's largest national security case, could potentially face life imprisonment. On Tuesday, the court started to hear pleas for leniency from some of the prominent activists.

A 29-year-old PhD student has been accused of killing one infant she was babysitting for a friend and leaving his twin injured. The student, who is a longtime friend of the family, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
