Hong Kong court hears pleas for leniency in sentencing of democracy activists

In Hong Kong, a court is moving closer to sentencing pro-democracy activists who were involved in an unofficial primary election. The activists, who were found guilty in the city's largest national security case, could potentially face life imprisonment. On Tuesday, the court started to hear pleas for leniency from some of the prominent activists.

Amanda Knox to Face Slander Charge in Italian Court

Amanda Knox is set to appear in an Italian court this week to face a 16-year-old slander charge. This charge stems from her accusation against a bar owner in the murder of Meredith Kercher. Despite being acquitted of the murder charges, the slander conviction is the only one that has remained against Knox. She will now have to address this legal matter in court once again.
