“Wakefield Trinity Replaces London Broncos in Super League Following New Club Gradings”

Wakefield Trinity has been reinstated to the Super League for the 2025 season, taking the place of London Broncos following the release of new club gradings by IMG. This decision comes as part of a strategic partnership established between the sport and IMG, which spans 12 years and fundamentally alters the traditional promotion and relegation system. Under this new framework, all 35 professional rugby league clubs will be evaluated annually based on a range of on-field and off-field criteria. The top 12 clubs in the rankings will secure their spots in the Super League each year. Wakefield is among nine clubs that have achieved Grade A status, which effectively protects them from relegation. This shift marks a significant change in how clubs will compete for their positions within the league structure.
